ICONA FIRST COMPLETIONS SPELL GOOD NEWS FOR THE OLYMPIC AREA
Residents are now moving into Telford Homes’ Icona development, one of the first new developments on the Olympic park fringes to be finished and the end product is truly impressive. Architecturally striking Icona, whose colourful 18 storey elliptical tower Icona Point overlooks the Olympic park, aims to set the tone for the Stratford area, which is undergoing a remarkable regeneration in the run up to 2012.
Over 100 completions have already taken place at the development, a joint venture between Telford Homes and the Royal Bank of Scotland and the first residents are already living in their new homes. Icona consists of an iconic 18-storey tower and two lower level buildings, Azura Court and Meridia/Odelia Court, to form a functional and stylish piece of living art, designed by architects Stock Woolstencroft. This development pushes the boundaries of contemporary residential architecture, drawing inspiration largely from the art world. The result is a vibrant and dynamic new mixed-use, mixed tenure development, providing 249 apartments and penthouses, together with over 1600 sq m of flexible A/B type commercial space. With all apartments having at least one balcony or deck (some two or even three!), the higher level north west views are potentially the most impressive with birds eye aspects over the Olympic Park.
Facilities at Icona include CCTV security, secured basement parking, a full-time concierge and a well-equipped onsite gym managed by Motive8, as well as a small children’s play area and central landscaped piazza. These excellent amenities are enhanced by the support of the Telford Homes dedicated customer service which provides exceptional 24/7, 365 days a year emergency service for the first two years of ownership. This service ensures that new residents and tenants have been able to move into Icona with minimal fuss and the peace of mind that any problems will be swiftly resolved.
Icona is located in Warton Road, Stratford E15. The development of this former derelict industrial site into a mixture of open market, shared ownership and social rental homes and commercial space forms part of Stratford’s ‘Arc of Opportunity’ regeneration initiative, part of the Olympic Masterplan.
Telford Homes Marketing Director Sheena Ellwood comments: “We are extremely proud that Icona is one of the first buildings to be completed in the Olympic zone and hope its landmark position will play a key role in setting the standard for the regeneration of the Stratford area ahead of the 2012 games. We are confident that buying an apartment at Icona will prove to have been an excellent investment choice for our customers as well as being a great place to live.”
