Gallion’s Point exceeds expectations

31-year old project manager Julio Diaz realised that Gallions Point could be his new home when he visited the site as part of his previous job.

Located in the heart of the Royal Docks, overlooking the River Thames, Gallions Point comprises of 127 homes in a new, unique riverside neighbourhood. Undergoing a £314 million regeneration programme over the next five years, the area is set to become one of the most exciting new places to live in the capital.

Julio was drawn to the development when he came to site with his previous employer to install smart metres. Having previously been searching for a place to call his own, the development fit his needs, and his budget. One of the main draws of the development for Julio was the travel connections. “I can be at the DLR in under a minute and from there, the airport and other areas of the city are all quick and easy to get to.” Julio travels a lot for work and also has a car at the development which he keeps in the security of the on-site underground car park.

Julio purchased his one bedroom apartment at Gallions Point summer 2020 for £340,000, utilising both the Help to Buy price offer and the Stamp Duty Holiday to make significant savings. After looking at various other developments and struggling to find one that fit the bill, Gallions Point stuck out and two weeks later – during his second viewing- he paid the reservation fee and his new home was his.

He moved in at the end of September and has been enjoying settling into his new home and exploring the local area ever since. Whilst lockdown has unfortunately restricted his access to some local amenities, such as the Gallions Reach Shopping Park just moments away with over 35 major stores, Julio has been enjoying discovering the Royal Docks area by taking long walks along the riverside.

The homes at Gallions Point all feature quality fixtures and fittings that have been meticulously chosen for their high levels of both functionality and style. The kitchens boast integrated Smeg appliances along with Urban Myth high gloss cabinets and stone worktops that make cooking a joy. The whole apartment features underfloor heating and luxurious carpets to the bedrooms to create a haven of tranquillity. Julio is particularly fond of his apartment’s large floor to ceiling windows offering ample light in through the west-facing views – as well as taking in the views from his own personal outdoor space on a private balcony.
