The Forge wins prestigious Housebuilder Award!

We’re delighted to announce that our The Forge development in Upton park has won a prestigious Housebuilder Award, in the “Best design, four storeys or more” category.

The Housebuilder Awards, run by the leading publication Housebuilder Magazine, are designed to recognise and reward innovation and excellence – recognising those in the industry who are improving quality, design, efficiency and customer care in housebuilding.

The Forge was praised by judges for its innovative approach to design, which saw the site of a former bus garage transformed into a development featuring rows of terraced houses, bookended with apartment blocks. The development was also commended for its substantial public realm enhancement – including the introduction of a new public pedestrian and cycle path running through the site, improving connectivity for new and existing communities towards Upton Park Station.

Judges also praised the scheme’s positive contribution to biodiversity – including an innovative roofing and drainage strategy and substantial blue and green roofs that restrict and delay runoff from the site, equating to 60% of the equivalent greenfield flow rate.
