YOUNG PARENTS-TO-BE FIND THEIR DREAM HOME AT THE BOATHOUSE

Daniel Brown, 27, a trainee accountant and his wife Anna Kalimbet-Brown, 31, an advertising executive, have just purchased their first home, a two-bedroom waterside apartment at The Boathouse, the first phase to launch at Telford Homes’ The Boatyard in Poplar, London E14 for £385,000.

When Daniel and Anna decided to purchase their first home, they looked at properties across Limehouse, Westferry and Mile-End, before arriving at The Boathouse at The Boatyard in Poplar. The couple, who previously rented in Tower Hill, had not considered buying a new build development and didn’t think they would be able to purchase so far off-plan. However once they saw the show home, detailed floor plans and spoke with the sales team, they were confident it would be worth the wait.

“Naturally there was some hesitancy about buying our first home off-plan however the sales team were extremely informative, did not put any pressure on us and gave us a very clear description of the property layout.” Daniel continues: “Purchasing off-plan has given us the opportunity to plan ahead and make our first home truly special.”

Living in a home in a parkside and waterside setting appealed to Daniel and Anna, as they are expecting their first child and see it as the perfect location to raise a young family. The contemporary interiors with integrated appliances also attracted the couple, as they now don’t need to set aside a large sum of money to redecorate or kit out their new home.

Daniel says: “We can’t wait to move into our first family home and make it feel our own. Unlike with a second-hand property, we won’t have to worry about using the tool-kit too much on move in day!”

In their spare time, Daniel and Anna enjoy running outdoors and appreciate having the Limehouse Cut nearby, the oldest canal in London which provides a footpath between the Limehouse Basin in the west and the River Lea to the east. They also enjoy socialising with friends, and look forward to relaxing at the café on the ground-floor of The Boathouse, as well as enjoying local restaurants such as Gordon Ramsey’s The Narrow.

He adds: “Telford Homes did everything in their power to make the sales process as easy as possible. We exchanged in 21 days, which is much quicker than we expected.”

The Boatyard is conveniently located for David and Anna, as Langdon Park DLR is a 10 minute walk from the development, whereas Bromley-by-Bow tube station on the District and Hammersmith and City line and Canary Wharf tube station on the Jubilee line are both just over a 20 minute walk, providing fast links to the City of London and Liverpool Street in 11 minutes.

The Boatyard is also a short distance from some of London’s most popular neighbourhoods. Canary Wharf, a key employment district and the new leading luxury quarter, is just a 15 minute walk or less than 10 minutes by DLR offering a wide and eclectic range of shops, restaurants and bars. Stratford, home to Westfield Stratford City is only 7 minutes by DLR and fashionable Shoreditch is under 20 minutes away.

The Boatyard is also near the A11 Bow Road and A13 East India Dock Road and is superbly located for easy access by car to Canary Wharf, Stratford, Bow, Mile End and Greenwich via the Blackwall Tunnel. For international travel, the DLR offers connections from The Boatyard to London City Airport in 17 minutes and King Cross St Pancras in 30 minutes.

Each apartment at The Boatyard includes fully fitted kitchens by London designer Urban Myth, integrated Smeg appliances and bathrooms with bespoke cabinetry, walk-in showers, as well as under-floor heating in all rooms. The Boatyard features high quality security systems with video entry phones to all apartments, CCTV in common areas and bicycle storage.

Prices start from £290,000 for a one-bedroom apartment at The Clubhouse, the latest phase to launch at The Boatyard, with first completions expected from spring 2015.
