Telford Homes launches new show homes at Bermondsey Works, SE1

On 14th September, Telford Homes will launch two brand-new stylish show homes at its Bermondsey Works development in SE1. To mark the occasion, a carnival themed ‘fun day’ will be held on the impressive 130 metre communal roof garden with a vintage band, carnival performers and a variety of local pop-up foods stalls – offering US deli-style sub rolls, the best of British cheese and mouth-watering waffle desserts – courtesy of suppliers based at the local Maltby Street Market.

The main show home, dressed by London interior designer Rachel Winham, is inspired by the building’s own iconic façade, mirroring the sharp lines and geometric patterns found in much of the surrounding architecture. The design draws on the urban sophistication of local Bermondsey – creating a functional yet comfortable space in which to live. The apartment is shaped around carefully designed focal points, such as the joinery wall in the living area and its diagonal design on both the surround and shelving, hand crafted cabinetry throughout, and bespoke headboards in each of the bedrooms, in an effort to transfer the edginess of Bermondsey’s creative heritage into an inviting and tranquil living space.

Bermondsey Works is a development of 148 homes, comprising of a range of two and three-bedroom apartments, villas, and penthouses, in a striking 18-storey tower and contemporary lower rise 6-storey building. The innovate design includes a Primary School and Sixth Form Academy underneath the residential units, while the lower rise section also offers 64 individually designed villas taking in dual aspect views across one of London’s most coveted locations. The immense popularity of the development has left just three-bedroom apartments remaining on the market, with the final phase launching now.

All apartments in the development have been tailored to a high standard specification using only the finest fixtures and fittings. Open-plan living areas include designer kitchens from Urban Myth with fully integrated appliances and zoned dining and entertaining areas. All of the apartments have video entry phone systems as well as underfloor heating, and the added benefit of a combined heat and power system with solar photovoltaic panels.

The regeneration of the area is helping Bermondsey to cement its status as London’s ‘coolest quarter’ as highlighted by Vogue magazine. The neighbourhood’s industrial heritage has helped it to become a cultural hub for creative professionals with an array of independent shops, restaurants, bars, coffee shops and galleries, which has it earn its status as one of the trendiest neighbourhoods in which to live and work. In addition, the planned regeneration of ‘New Bermondsey’ will mean that the area benefits from world class sports facilities, along with the creation of 2,400 new jobs and 2,000 new homes. Over 700 new homes have been added to the area in the last two years, showing the exceptional popularity and investment opportunity the area presents, with the addition of Crossrail links, plans to extend the Bakerloo line, and the development of the overground New Bermondsey Station, on the horizon.

David Campbell, Group Sales and Marketing Director, Telford Homes: “Bermondsey Works is an excellent option for buyers. Bermondsey boasts an array of established shops and restaurants as well as great transport links to other key parts of London, particularly the City and Canary Wharf for commuters. On top of this it is an area undergoing huge regeneration and will therefore become an even more desirable location, and therefore investment, in years to come.”

Located on Rotherhithe New Road, the development is just an 8 minute and 18 minute walk from South Bermondsey train station and Bermondsey underground station respectively, offering swift and easy access to The City, Canary Wharf and the West End. Bermondsey will also benefit from improved transport links following the announcement that a new London Overground station will be opening as part of the £1billion ‘New Bermondsey’ regeneration project.

Designed by award-winning architects Stockwool, Bermondsey Works delivers the best in contemporary city living and includes a 24-hour concierge service, private gymnasium, underground parking, bicycle storage and two roof gardens for residents to enjoy.

The Bermondsey Works Rooftop ‘Fun day’ event will run from 4pm-8pm on Thursday 14th September.

Three-bedroom villas start from £667,000.
